The Senior SAP FI Applications Consultant will report directly to the Senior Manager of IT Applications and will be responsible for overseeing systems activities and projects related to assigned applications. This role involves the design, development, maintenance, and enhancement of application programs with a primary focus on SAP FI, In-House Cash, Coupa, Concur, and Vertex.

In this position, you will serve as a subject matter expert for the Treasury, Accounting, Finance, and Tax (TAFT) teams, providing assistance in problem resolution and contributing to training development. Your responsibilities will encompass application planning, execution, and support, which includes maintaining, configuring, and updating systems, managing integration, administering change control processes, and implementing new functionalities. Additionally, you will act as a business process expert, supporting all aspects of financial systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Possess a solid understanding of SAP GL, AP, AR, FM, Automatic Payment, FICO-MM Integration, FICO-SD Integration, Electronic Bank Statement, In-House Cash, Coupa, Concur, and Vertex.
  • Experience in managing payment processes, establishing closing schedules, closing periods, processing year-end adjustments, carrying balances forward, and handling 1099 processing.
  • Identify detailed system requirements based on business needs articulated by the TAFT teams.
  • Configure and test modifications to facilitate new system developments, enhancements, and production support adjustments.
  • Provide functional specifications to ABAP developers for custom modifications.
  • Offer expertise for impact assessments and testing of SAP Add-on Packs (AOPs) and SAP Release upgrades.
  • Assist in the development and execution of Enterprise Test scripts.
  • Investigate issues reported by end-users, resolve them, and ensure ticket closure.
  • Ensure a smooth transition from development to production, adhering to TAFT procedures and tools.
  • Regularly communicate status updates and escalate issues/risks as necessary, proactively addressing potential problems.
  • Collaborate with team members and TAFT groups to prioritize and reprioritize tasks as needed.
  • Build strong working relationships with stakeholders across all levels of the organization.
  • Participate in requirements gathering and the creation of User Stories or Technical Specification documents.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focusing on quality, stability, usability, maintainability, and customer satisfaction.
  • Design, develop, maintain, and enhance application programs within a collaborative team environment.
  • Prepare systems for monthly closing processes, including data preparation and process management.
  • Ensure timely and efficient execution of monthly closing processes across all systems.
  • Provide training for end users and act as the point of contact for internal and external stakeholders.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Experience in customer service.
  • 5 to 7 years of IT experience with relevant work in finance and accounting application support and/or implementation.
  • Experience in business process design, requirements gathering, and gap analysis.
  • Proficiency in SAP S4 Hana FI/CO Configuration.
  • Familiarity with Coupa or Ariba is advantageous.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including creating formulas, pivot tables, and v-lookups.
  • Experience with Oracle Shared Services and Life Cycle Management.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Analytical and process-oriented mindset with a focus on quality.
  • Experience in SAP S4 Hana configuration and testing.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, particularly in customer interactions.
  • Ability to translate business problems into system requirements.
  • Experience leading small project segments or work processes.
  • Knowledge of configuration, testing, maintenance, enhancements, and support activities.
  • Ability to evaluate user change requests and secure necessary approvals.
  • Experience conducting unit testing to ensure applications meet specifications.
  • Familiarity with various SAP areas, including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and more.
  • Strong understanding of SAP FI/CO configuration, integration, training, testing, and implementation.
  • Proficient in performing ad hoc analysis and data validation.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent documentation skills.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Highly skilled in Microsoft Excel.
