Role Purpose

The Sales Development Representative at Smartcat is tasked with engaging, connecting, and qualifying inbound prospects, as well as researching, identifying, and qualifying outbound prospects.

This role supports two sales teams—strategic and velocity—in expanding the sales pipeline in both value and quantity of accounts. While a deep understanding of Smartcat's products is not mandatory, a strong interest in SaaS solutions and the localization sector is essential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Engage and qualify inbound Marketing Qualified Leads (MQLs).
  • Connect with prospects to schedule demonstrations through an Account-Based Marketing (ABM) approach, targeting strategic business accounts via cold calling, emailing, and social media.
  • Maintain a consistent outbound calling effort of over 100 calls daily.
  • Drive sales growth by arranging qualified, high-value meetings for Account Executives.
  • Document detailed notes on qualified prospects and ensure the CRM is regularly updated.
  • Develop innovative strategies to target decision-makers at prospective accounts to secure sales appointments and enhance company revenue.
  • Take ownership of lead generation within assigned verticals, qualifying prospects based on their challenges, budget, decision-making capacity, and product compatibility.
  • Gain insights into the business challenges and personal issues faced by prospects, using this understanding to resonate with the Smartcat platform.
  • Collaborate closely with Sales and Revenue Operations to refine the target audience and uncover new business opportunities.
  • Act as the voice of the customer, providing valuable feedback on customer needs, challenges, purchasing processes, and priorities.
Candidate Profile
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in a Sales Development Representative (SDR) or Business Development Representative (BDR) role within B2B SaaS companies.
  • Familiarity with CRM software, preferably HubSpot.
  • Fluent in English; proficiency in a second language is advantageous.
  • Experience with Sandler sales training or familiarity with the Sandler sales methodology is a plus.
  • Exceptional communication and negotiation skills.
  • A strong drive for business growth and a high tolerance for uncertainty and risk.
  • Demonstrated integrity, commitment, and a strong sense of ownership.
  • Willingness to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment, requiring focus, urgency, and persistence.
