Key Responsibilities
  • Client Relationship Management: Manages an extensive portfolio of complex clients and prospects, providing tailored financial solutions to meet their needs.
  • Business Development: Responsible for the initial screening and evaluation of potential business relationships, identifying opportunities for growth and expansion.
  • Financial Analysis: Evaluates and structures loan requests, balancing the bank's credit philosophy with the applicant's request, ensuring a mutually beneficial outcome.
  • Relationship Building: Acquires, deepens and maintains profitable client relationships through sales, prospecting and enhancing existing relationships.
  • Industry Knowledge: Understands and interprets financial and cash flow statements to assess and analyze financial conditions of companies and industry trends.
  • Collaboration: Collaborates with local market stakeholders and teammates throughout the organization, including Deposits, Credit and Merchant Services, to design and deliver financial solutions to clients and prospects.
  • Leadership: Leads and facilitates dialogue with complex clients and prospects regarding topics such as industry trends, alternative capital structures and general business issues.
  • Coaching and Mentoring: Demonstrates leadership skills and coaches/mentors peers to ensure the success of the team.
Additional Requirements
  • Commercial Lending Knowledge: Knowledge of commercial lending parameters is essential for success in this role.
  • Self-Motivation: Must be self-motivated and able to work independently, with minimal supervision.
  • Proven Track Record: Must have a proven track record of successful business relationship development.
  • Cross-Selling: Must be able to cross-sell banking products to clients and prospects.
  • Travel: Must be willing and able to travel locally, as needed.
  • Extended Hours: Must be willing to work extended hours, as necessary, to attend evening business functions.
Education and Experience
  • Education: College degree required.
  • Formal Training: Formal bank credit training, preferred.
  • Experience: Must have a minimum of five (5) years' business development experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Technical Skills: Working knowledge of MS Word, Suite, Abrigo, 360 View.
Physical Requirements
  • Sitting: Ability to sit for long periods of time, up to 75% of work hours.
  • Hand Use: Ability to use hands to grasp, handle or feel.
  • Computer Use: Ability to use computer keyboard and system to enter data and process information.
  • Visual Acuity: Ability to read a computer screen at a close distance.
  • Communication: Ability to talk, hear and see.
  • Telephone Use: Ability to use telephone to communicate with others.
  • Office Equipment: Ability to use office equipment, such as a teller scanner, personal computer, telephone, mobile device, copier, etc.
Working Conditions
  • Sound Level: Moderate sound, as in a business office with office machines, computers and people traffic.
