Role Overview

The Senior Manager, Accounting will play a pivotal role in shaping our Finance department by leading the accounting team and enhancing the company's ability to capture, analyze, and present data in the form of financial statements and actionable insights. This individual will oversee core financial reporting for the management team and the annual financial statement review. In collaboration with the management team, this individual will be responsible for implementing and maintaining essential policies and procedures to ensure accurate and timely reporting of Intercare's financial statements and ad-hoc financial reports.

Key Responsibilities
  • Compile consolidated monthly financial reporting packages for both the internal finance team and management.
  • Prepare all necessary documentation for the annual financial statement review and liaise with senior management and external auditors to ensure a smooth review process.
  • Oversee the general ledger, lead month-end closing processes, and prepare financial statements.
  • Generate detailed journal entries and conduct account analyses.
  • Manage Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes, collaborating with accounting staff to implement best practices for efficiency and accuracy.
  • Develop, implement, and uphold robust internal controls to protect company assets and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Support the organization's annual financial planning cycle and future reforecasting exercises.
  • Ensure timely completion of balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Review monthly Profit & Loss statements and Balance Sheet results, facilitating monthly/quarterly budget review meetings with department heads.
  • Automate manual finance and accounting processes.
  • Assist in ad hoc financial analysis and market research to support various projects and key business initiatives.
  • Collaborate with the IT department and Finance leadership on future systems implementations or conversions, taking ownership of the organization's financial data and systems.
Preferred Qualifications
  • B.A./B.S. in a quantitative field (Accounting, Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Sciences).
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) licensed in California.
  • 7+ years of professional experience in Accounting/FP&A.
  • Strong understanding of three core financial statements and experience with detailed variance analysis.
Essential Skills
  • Experience with final responsibility for the preparation of all financial data, reporting, and audit coordination for a division or significant business area.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Familiarity with accounting and financial reporting software, including QuickBooks Online and enterprise reporting platforms (e.g., Oracle, SAP, Workday).
  • Technologically adept with experience in selecting and overseeing software implementations and managing vendor relationships.
  • Proven ability to set priorities; possess keen analytical, organizational, and critical thinking skills that support sound decision-making.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to prioritize, negotiate, and collaborate with various internal and external stakeholders.
  • A motivated multi-tasker capable of managing multiple responsibilities in a dynamic environment.
