Job Overview:


We are seeking a Financial Aid/Financial Services Manager for a remote temporary consulting role. This position offers a competitive hourly rate and is expected to last for several months.

This role is pivotal in overseeing the operations and customer service within the Finance Services Office and Financial Aid departments. The successful candidate will report directly to the Associate Vice President for Finance/Controller and collaborate closely with the Director of Financial Aid and Accounts Receivable/Accounts Payable Manager to ensure timely project completion.


Key Responsibilities:


- Monitor, review, and validate accounting records and transactions for accuracy and compliance with internal policies and generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).

- Prepare and analyze financial reports, identifying trends and making recommendations to senior management.

- Reconcile accounts with the College's financial systems and ensure proper documentation for audit purposes.

- Serve as a primary contact for funding agencies and internal customers regarding financial inquiries.

- Address student inquiries related to federal and private student loans, ensuring clear communication and support.

- Establish and maintain effective working relationships within a diverse and multicultural environment.

- Develop knowledge-based FAQs related to financial projects and perform other related duties as assigned.


Qualifications:


- Extensive experience with accounting methods and procedures, particularly in financial reporting and tax compliance.

- Strong knowledge of auditing practices and the ability to process 1099 forms.

- Proficiency in integrated financial software, with a preference for systems like Banner, an Ellucian ERP.

- Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and analytical skills.

- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication abilities.

- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.

- Understanding of federal and private student loan processes, including certification and repayment.

- A Bachelor's Degree in accounting, finance, or a related field, along with 5+ years of management experience in a business office setting, preferably in higher education or non-profit sectors.


This position requires compliance with health and safety protocols, including COVID-19 vaccination proof and/or rigorous testing.
