Senior Credit Analyst - Affordable Housing

Role Overview:
The Affordable Housing Team is in search of a Senior Credit Analyst to support the evaluation, structuring, underwriting, and coordination of the closure of significant and intricate commercial loans, ensuring adherence to the Bank's lending policies and protocols. The Senior Credit Analyst will collaborate with the Relationship Manager to oversee loans, ensuring that credit risks are effectively monitored and identified. This role is vital in achieving the established objectives of the Bank, region, and branch through active involvement in underwriting and finalizing desirable credit opportunities alongside the Relationship Manager. The Senior Credit Analyst is accountable for ensuring compliance with all Bank policies and procedures, as well as all relevant state and federal banking regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate closely with the Relationship Manager to cultivate new and maintain existing client relationships while ensuring a seamless credit process from initiation to completion.
- Engage with clients in-person, via phone, and through email to assess their credit requirements and determine the optimal structure and necessary documentation for analysis.
- Collect and analyze essential information to present, in conjunction with the Relationship Manager, a financing proposal to senior management or the Loan Committee for approval.
- Oversee the processing of approved loans; ensure that loans are managed according to agreements, customer needs, and comply with Bank lending policies; gather sufficient information and/or documentation from clients; assist in resolving issues related to processing and servicing of loans within the Relationship Manager's portfolio.
- Exemplify superior customer service through personal example and appropriate follow-up with involved clients and team members.
- Manage various underwriting, portfolio management, and maintenance tasks related to new loan requests and/or the existing portfolio of the Relationship Manager.
- Bachelor's Degree from a four-year college or university, preferably in Finance or Accounting.
- 1-3 years of experience in commercial underwriting at a financial institution.
- In-depth credit knowledge and underwriting expertise in Commercial Real Estate lending.
- Advanced experience, knowledge, and training in financial statement and tax return analysis, typically acquired through education in accounting, finance, or credit analysis.
- Strong portfolio management capabilities, enabling timely identification of credit issues and bringing concerns to the Relationship Manager's attention.
- Exceptional presentation, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Able to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
- Proficient in managing multiple credit requests simultaneously.
- Self-motivated, entrepreneurial mindset, and a positive outlook.
