Role Overview:
The Affordable Housing division is in search of a Senior Credit Analyst to play a pivotal role in evaluating, structuring, underwriting, and facilitating the closure of significant and intricate commercial loans, ensuring adherence to the Bank's lending standards and protocols. The Senior Credit Analyst will collaborate with the Relationship Manager to oversee loans, guaranteeing that credit risks are diligently monitored and identified. This position is integral to achieving the established objectives of the Bank, region, and branch through active involvement in underwriting and closing favorable credits alongside the Relationship Manager. The Senior Credit Analyst is accountable for ensuring compliance with all Bank policies and procedures, as well as all relevant state and federal banking regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate closely with the Relationship Manager to cultivate new and maintain existing client relationships while ensuring a seamless credit process from initiation to completion.
  • Engage with clients in person, via phone, and through email to assess their credit requirements and determine the optimal structure and necessary items for analysis.
  • Collect and evaluate essential information to present, alongside the Relationship Manager, a financing proposal to senior management or the Loan Committee for approval.
  • Oversee the processing of approved loans; ensure that loans are managed according to agreements, customer needs, and comply with Bank lending policies; gather adequate information and/or documentation from clients; assist in resolving issues related to processing and servicing of loans within the Relationship Manager's portfolio.
  • Exemplify superior customer service through personal example and appropriate follow-through with involved clients and staff.
  • Manage various underwriting, portfolio management, and maintenance tasks related to new loan requests and/or the existing portfolio of the Relationship Manager.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree from a four-year institution, preferably in Finance or Accounting.
  • 1-3 years of experience in commercial underwriting at a financial institution.
  • Exceptional knowledge of credit and underwriting practices in Commercial Real Estate lending.
  • Advanced expertise in financial statement and tax return analysis, typically acquired through a combination of education in accounting, finance, and/or credit analysis.
  • Strong portfolio management skills, enabling timely identification of credit issues by bringing concerns to the Relationship Manager's attention.
  • Excellent presentation, verbal, and written communication abilities.
  • Proficient in collaborating effectively within a team-oriented environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple credit requests simultaneously.
  • Self-motivated, entrepreneurial mindset with a positive outlook.
Compensation: The hourly wage for new hires typically starts at $47.11 for the Los Angeles area. Salary is determined by specific job location. Additionally, the role may qualify for annual bonuses/incentives.
