About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to join our team as an Assistant Director of Student Services and Events Coordinator at New England College of Optometry. This is a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, where you will have the chance to make a real impact on the student experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Event Planning and Execution
    • Plan and coordinate large-scale events, including Commencement, the White Coat Ceremony, and other signature campus events.
    • Work closely with various departments and committees to ensure successful program execution.
  • Student Leadership Development
    • Provide guidance and support to student government and organizations, including event planning and approvals, budgeting, and leadership development training.
    • Facilitate training for student leaders on event planning, risk management, and operational logistics.
  • Career Programming
    • Assist with the NECO Career portal and other job-sharing initiatives.
    • Coordinate and conduct career development opportunities, including resume review and programming.
  • Center for Academic and Professional Achievement
    • Serve as a team member, contributing to annual planning, reporting, and assessments.
    • Support proctoring for Midterm and Final exams for students with accommodations.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree and 2 years of professional experience in Campus Life/Student Activities, higher education, or event coordination.
  • Experience in event planning and execution, budget management, and programming.
  • Ability to work some evenings and weekends.
