Bilingual Case Manager

San Diego Youth Services is seeking a Bilingual Case Manager for the Safe Family Services Program. This position is full-time and non-exempt, reporting directly to the Program Manager.

Program Overview

The Safe Family Services Program provides essential support to Transition Age Youth (TAY), aged 18-24, who are currently involved in an SDYS program and have experienced domestic violence.

Position Context

The Case Manager will deliver comprehensive, trauma-informed advocacy services as part of the CSEC Response Team within the Safe Family Services Program. Responsibilities include collaborating with Child and Family Wellbeing and other community organizations, providing services to youth who have faced commercial sexual exploitation, human trafficking, or domestic violence. Key duties include conducting intake assessments, developing service plans with youth, offering crisis intervention, facilitating prevention and intervention groups, conducting outreach, and providing advocacy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver support services, including accompanying youth to appointments and court, case management for stabilization (housing, employment, education, health), outreach, crisis intervention, and referrals.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with data collection and contract requirements.
  • Conduct emergency outreach in collaboration with Child and Family Wellbeing to assess eligibility for services.
  • Assist in developing group curriculum and lead group sessions.
  • Coordinate care by communicating with various stakeholders, including Probation Officers, Social Workers, and healthcare providers.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation as needed.
  • Engage youth in services for up to 90 days or longer based on individual needs.
  • Provide community outreach and training to raise awareness.
  • Stay informed about tenant-landlord laws and seek partnerships with housing providers.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in social work or a related field, or 2-5 years of experience with high-risk clients, particularly adolescents and TAY.
  • Preferred lived experience as a survivor of human trafficking, domestic violence, or as a former foster youth.
  • Bilingual proficiency is required.
  • Experience in crisis intervention, group facilitation, and case management is preferred.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills; ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Willingness to learn about trauma-informed care.
  • Must complete required training programs.
  • Valid driver's license and good driving record are necessary.
  • Maintain CPR and First Aid certification.
  • Employment is contingent upon background checks and clearances.

Salary Range: $21-23/hour plus potential bilingual differential.
