Divine Truth Unity Fellowship Church is in search of skilled and passionate individuals to fulfill the role of Program Facilitator. This position is dedicated to providing LGBTQ+ youth, aged 11-26, with engaging and supportive programs that are centered around their needs and interests. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in working with LGBTQ+ youth, an awareness of the unique challenges they encounter, and a commitment to fostering safe environments for young individuals to explore their identities and build community connections.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as a Wellness Center staff member, offering support during drop-in sessions, programming, and events as scheduled by the Wellness Center Director.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming environment within the Wellness Center to ensure a functional space for participants.
- Design and lead support groups and workshops for LGBTQ youth, both virtually and in-person, covering a variety of engaging and relevant topics.
- Supervise participants during daily activities, including indoor and outdoor events, field trips, and special occasions.
- Keep accurate records and provide regular updates to supervisors regarding attendance, group activities, and any incidents that may occur.
- Manage inventory and arrange for appropriate snacks or meals as needed, ensuring that supplies are adequate for program requirements.
- Collaborate with other service providers, community organizations, and schools to coordinate services and promote LGBTQ+ youth programs.
- Work closely with LGBTQ youth to identify their needs and adapt programs accordingly, while also engaging with parents to address specific concerns.
- Participate actively as a member of the program team, including attending training sessions, agency events, and team meetings.
- Perform additional related duties as assigned, which may include working flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in supporting LGBTQ+ youth and developing relevant programs.
- A strong commitment to advocating for social, racial, and gender justice.
- Experience in youth development and building rapport with participants.
- Knowledge of the unique challenges faced by gender-diverse youth and LGBTQ+ communities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Experience in collaborating with various departments or organizations to meet youth needs.
- Demonstrated commitment to social justice and advocacy for marginalized communities.
Compensation: $25.00 per hour, up to 20 hours per week (up to $24,000 per year), Part Time.
