Position Overview:

The Educational Program Manager will collaborate closely with the designated Pre-Clerkship or Clerkship Directors, the Director of Medical Education, and the Assistant Dean of Medical Education. This role is pivotal in supporting the development, organization, and management of the Medical Doctorate program. The manager will aid in the execution of the curriculum as sanctioned by the CDU COM Education Policy Curriculum Committee (EPCC), compile attendance reports, collect course and student feedback, facilitate mid-clerkship evaluations, and organize regular grading discussions.

Key Responsibilities:

For Pre-Clerkship Courses:

The Pre-Clerkship Educational Program Manager will be integral in all facets of the medical school curriculum. The primary role involves serving as an administrative liaison and providing project management assistance. Responsibilities include:
  • Effective preparation and dissemination of curricular information to course directors, content leaders, faculty, and students.
  • Providing administrative support for the medical school curriculum, including course coordination, project management, and preparation of course materials and syllabi.
  • Scheduling learning sessions and managing room reservations.
  • Maintaining online course materials in the learning management system (LMS).
  • Acting as the primary contact between students, faculty, and course co-directors.
  • Coordinating exam preparation and evaluation processes for each course, ensuring timely submissions to meet curricular deadlines.
  • Participating in curricular committees and related meetings.
  • Managing various curricular projects and tasks as assigned by the Pre-Clerkship Dean, requiring strong organizational skills and the ability to balance multiple priorities.
For Clerkship Courses:

The Clerkship Educational Program Manager will support various clerkships, including Surgery, Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, and others. Responsibilities include proctoring computer-based examinations, ensuring compliance with clerkship rotation policies, supervising clerkship support staff, and performing additional assigned duties. Key tasks include:

Daily Operations
  • Coordinating clerkship assignments, monitoring student onboarding at affiliated institutions, and tracking student performance.
  • Developing and administering student assessments, monitoring work hours, and participating in mid-clerkship evaluation sessions.
  • Collaborating with the College of Medicine Standardized Patient Program and administering NBME subject boards for the clerkship.
School of Medicine Responsibilities:
  • Providing guidance and resolving immediate student concerns.
  • Monitoring and reporting violations of the learning environment, including student mistreatment and Title IX issues.
  • Advising on course requirements and ensuring compliance with departmental standards.
  • Performing other related duties as assigned.
Communication Duties:
  • Maintaining web-based communication for courses, including updates to the LMS and proofreading course materials.
  • Representing the university positively and upholding core values of innovation, respect, and diversity.
  • Demonstrating effective communication skills with students, visitors, and colleagues.
Administrative Support:
  • Coordinating daily schedules and ensuring all necessary facilities are prepared for course sessions.
  • Providing overall administrative support to Course Directors, including updates on academic materials and exam facilitation.
  • Attending course-related meetings and preparing necessary materials.
  • Contributing to process improvement initiatives within the organization.
  • Engaging in personal and professional development activities.
Qualifications:
  • Education: Minimum of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution; a Master's degree in a relevant field is preferred.
  • Experience: At least one year of relevant work experience; prior administrative experience in an academic setting is preferred.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and establish effective working relationships.

Compensation:
  • Salary range: $66,000 - $70,000.00
