Position Overview:

We are currently seeking a Quality Engineer II specializing in Operations to assist our manufacturing facilities. This role involves collaborating with production teams to evaluate product defect data and working alongside various engineering disciplines to implement corrective measures aimed at preventing the recurrence of defects. Strong leadership skills are essential for this position, as the Quality Engineer will guide teams in resolving product quality issues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and lead problem-solving initiatives to minimize product defects.
  • Provide expert input on the application of the Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Collaborate with the Manufacturing Engineering team to ensure quality standards are integrated into production planning.
  • Utilize quality tools proactively to achieve zero-defect performance.
  • Establish and oversee inspection planning processes.
  • Conduct audits of production processes.
  • Work with Supply Chain Management and Supplier Quality to monitor supplier-related issues and certifications.
  • Facilitate corrective actions and implement continuous improvement strategies.
  • Develop charts for tracking and reporting on quality data related to product and process capabilities.
  • Conduct inspections of products and materials.
  • Manage nonconforming materials effectively.
  • Collaborate with production teams to analyze defective materials and determine corrective actions.

Required Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM preferred) with a minimum of 2 years of relevant engineering experience.
  • Alternatively, a minimum of 6 years of engineering support experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Experience in reviewing schematic drawings as part of the assembly process.
  • Proficiency in utilizing quality tools such as Pareto analysis and process mapping.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in developing and executing containment plans following noncompliance events.
  • Experience interacting with customers or their representatives to address business needs.
  • Ability to interpret drawings, work instructions, and Bill of Materials (BOMs).
  • Familiarity with Advanced Product Quality Planning tools such as PFMEA and Statistical Process Control.
