About the Role

Raytheon Technologies is seeking a highly skilled Quality Assurance Engineer to join our team in Tucson, AZ. As a Quality Assurance Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality of our products and processes, driving continuous improvement, and achieving results in a matrixed environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Verify product and process compliance with respect to contractual, technical, industry, and quality management system requirements.
  • Develop strong working relationships with cross-functional teams, including touch labor, factory leadership, program leadership, and DCMA.
  • Regularly analyze data, develop and use actionable metrics, and generate and publish Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ) metrics.
  • Facilitate and lead cross-functional teams in failure analysis, root cause and corrective action investigations, including identifying non-conformances, providing solutions, tracking issues to closure, and leading Corrective Action Boards (CAB).
  • Ensure identification, physical control, and disposition of non-conforming material and facilitate Material Review Board (MRB) when necessary.
  • Support work instruction development and maintenance activities by reviewing work instructions, test instructions, auditing processes, and assuring configuration management.
  • Develop and maintain inspection instructions, ensuring inspection instructions meet technical data package requirements and meet production needs.
  • Develop and release First Article Inspections (FAIs) in accordance with AS9102.
  • Regularly interface with Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA) and internal stakeholders to manage issues.
  • Conduct weekly meetings to help reduce cost of poor quality and facilitate timely red rack dispositions.
Requirements
  • Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM).
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in related Quality, Operations, Engineering, or related technical discipline.
  • Experience with interpreting engineering drawings, work instructions, Bill of Materials (BOMs), consumable materials control, and manufacturing process experience in one of the following areas (assembly, inspection, test).
  • Experience with AS9100 and/or ISO 9001 quality management systems.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain an ATF (Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives) clearance prior to the start date.
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Competency and experience in a relevant technical discipline with understanding of engineering principles and design analysis techniques.
  • Experience in leading cross-functional teams in auditing process and product/process improvements in the factory or at suppliers.
  • Experience in Product/Process Failure Modes & Affects Analysis, Regression Analysis.
  • Experience with AS9102 First Article Inspection Requirements.
  • Experience with AS9145 - Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP).
  • High computer proficiency, including skills working with Microsoft Tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Visio).
  • ASQ Certifications preferred.
