Role Summary:

We are seeking a Manufacturing Quality Assurance Engineer to collaborate with production teams, ensuring adherence to quality standards, conducting inspections, and preparing for compliance evaluations. This role necessitates a physical presence at our facilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure product and process adherence to contractual, technical, industry, and internal quality management standards.
  • Regularly compile and disseminate metrics related to the Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ).
  • Lead cross-functional teams in conducting failure analyses and Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) investigations, identifying non-conformances, proposing solutions, and tracking issues to resolution.
  • Oversee the identification, control, and resolution of non-conforming materials, facilitating Material Review Board (MRB) processes as needed.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of work instructions and inspection protocols, ensuring they align with technical requirements and production needs.
  • Engage regularly with the Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA).
  • Conduct daily status meetings with factory personnel and stakeholders to manage quality-related issues.
  • Facilitate weekly meetings aimed at reducing costs associated with poor quality and ensuring timely resolutions.
Essential Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics).
  • A minimum of five years of experience in Quality Assurance, Operations, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience in supporting design and/or manufacturing processes.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes such as assembly, inspection, or testing.
  • Proficiency in interpreting schematics, engineering drawings, and work instructions.
  • Understanding of engineering principles and design analysis techniques.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance.
  • Capability to secure an ATF clearance prior to employment.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Possession of an existing DoD Secret Clearance.
  • Experience with ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 Quality Management Systems.
  • Knowledge of AS9102 First Article Inspection Requirements.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with experience in negotiation and collaboration with various stakeholders.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams in auditing processes and implementing improvements.
  • Familiarity with AS9145 - Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP).
  • Six Sigma or ASQ Certification.
  • Proficient in data analysis and the development of actionable metrics.
