Position Summary:

The Leave Administration Expert will be responsible for managing and facilitating leave requests and accommodations that require specialized handling, particularly those related to the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), and various state and local leave regulations, as well as short-term and long-term disability plans. This role will collaborate with other teams within the People Solutions Department, including Operations, Compensation & Benefits, Workers Compensation, Employee Relations, and Health & Wellness.

Travel Requirements: Minimal travel expected.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the administration of sick leave, Family and Medical Leave (FMLA), parental leave, short and long-term disability, military leave, and personal leave of absences.
  • Ensure equitable administration of leave programs across the organization.
  • Execute necessary actions in the employee lifecycle management system, adhering to established policies and regulations; analyze utilization trends through tracking reports and dashboards.
  • Address employee inquiries through the designated service management system.
  • Monitor all phases of the leave process.
  • Document, audit, and request necessary documentation for eligibility or updates in accordance with established policies.
  • Coordinate with benefits and payroll teams to ensure seamless integration.
  • Provide guidance and support to staff regarding leave of absence processes and related programs.
  • Maintain communication with the People Solutions team, employees, third-party administrators, and managers throughout the leave process, covering eligibility, approval, return-to-work procedures, and extensions.
  • Generate and analyze reports to assess utilization and identify trends.
  • Assist with Workers Compensation claims processing until designated counselors are appointed, continuing to provide support as needed.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly advanced Excel.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in leave of absence administration.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit for extended periods while working on a computer.
