Position Overview:

The Leave Administration Expert will play a crucial role in managing and processing leave requests and accommodations that require specialized handling, particularly those related to the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), and various state and local leave regulations, as well as short-term and long-term disability plans. This position will collaborate closely with other teams within the People Solutions Department, including Operations, Compensation & Benefits, Workers Compensation, Employee Relations, and Health & Wellness.

Travel Requirements: Minimal travel, less than 10%.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer various leave programs including sick leave, FMLA, parental leave, short and long-term disability, military leave, and personal leave of absence.
  • Ensure equitable administration of leave programs across the organization.
  • Execute necessary actions in lifecycle transactions as per established policies and regulations; analyze utilization trends from reports and dashboards.
  • Address employee inquiries through our service management system.
  • Monitor all phases of the leave process.
  • Document, audit, and request necessary documentation for eligibility or updates as per established guidelines.
  • Coordinate with benefits and payroll teams to ensure seamless communication.
  • Support and liaise with staff regarding leave of absence matters and related programs.
  • Maintain communication with the People Solutions team, employees, third-party administrators, and managers throughout the leave process regarding eligibility, approvals, return-to-work procedures, and extensions.
  • Generate and analyze reports to assess utilization and identify trends.
  • Assist with Workers Compensation claims and processes until designated counselors are appointed, continuing to provide support as needed.

Additional Responsibilities:

Qualifications:
