We are seeking a full-time HR Payroll Specialist to enhance our HR team.

Salary: Starting at $57,000

The HR Payroll Specialist plays a vital role in our organization, responsible for managing HRIS updates, administering benefits, processing payroll, and supporting various HR operations. The ideal candidate will exhibit strong analytical capabilities, exceptional organizational skills, and a comprehensive understanding of HR principles and practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurately and promptly process payroll transactions, including verification of timekeeping records and deductions.
  • Maintain and update HRIS database records, ensuring employee data accuracy.
  • Oversee payroll processes, including health and welfare plan enrollments, modifications, and terminations.
  • Administer employee benefits programs, including enrollments, changes, and terminations.
  • Prepare and analyze various HR reports, such as headcount, turnover, and payroll summaries.
  • Coordinate onboarding activities for new employees, including conducting orientations and processing necessary documentation.
  • Collaborate with HR team members to effectively implement HR policies and procedures.
  • Assist employees with inquiries related to payroll and benefits, resolving issues in a timely manner.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Process required documentation through payroll and insurance providers to maintain accurate recordkeeping and deductions.
  • Provide customer service by addressing employee requests and questions.
  • Reconcile benefits statements on a monthly basis.
  • Audit payroll, benefits, or other HR programs and recommend corrective actions as necessary.
  • Prepare and maintain regular merit increase reports to ensure compliance and track progress effectively.
  • Manage internal records, including preparing, issuing, and filing company documentation (e.g., sick leave, FMLA, etc.).
  • Participate in HR projects and initiatives as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience as an HR Payroll Specialist or in a similar role with a focus on HRIS updates and benefits administration.
  • Strong understanding of payroll processing (payroll tax knowledge is a plus).
  • Proficient in HRIS systems (e.g., Paylocity, Paycor) and MS Office Suite, especially Excel.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Attention to detail and strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to maintain integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Ability to quickly learn the organization's HRIS and talent management systems.

Education and Experience:

  • A bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field is preferred.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in payroll is preferred.
  • Strong time management, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
  • Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn payroll software.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
