Position Overview
Join Rutgers University as a vital member of the NJMS - Division of Adolescent and Young Adult Medicine (DAYAM). This role is essential in addressing the healthcare needs of adolescents and young adults within a collaborative team of healthcare professionals.

Key Responsibilities
As a Program Assistant, your primary duties will include:

  • Patient Registration: Facilitate the registration process for patients and manage follow-up appointment scheduling.
  • Office Operations: Oversee various aspects of office management, including inventory control and ordering supplies.
  • Administrative Support: Provide comprehensive administrative services to ensure smooth operations within the Division.
  • Client Assistance: Support individuals living with HIV/AIDS in overcoming barriers to accessing and adhering to necessary medical care.
  • Service Coordination: Ensure timely access to HIV-related services for individuals testing positive, aiming to delay the progression of the disease.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with case managers to address the healthcare needs of clients.
  • Outreach Efforts: Engage with individuals who have become disconnected from care, utilizing phone outreach and home visits to connect them with essential services.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in a healthcare or social sciences field.
  • A minimum of two years of experience working with high-risk adolescent and young adult populations, particularly in HIV/AIDS case management.
  • A valid driver’s license.

Skills and Abilities
Essential skills include:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
  • Ability to operate an SUV and complete Rutgers Defensive Driving Training.

Preferred Qualifications
Experience with data collection and analysis tools, as well as familiarity with Rutgers systems, is advantageous.
