Job Description

Under the guidance of the Procurement Team Leader, you will undertake a diverse range of responsibilities to acquire materials from suppliers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute varied tasks to prepare and place purchase orders for intricate commodities, supplies, and materials, where standard pricing is typically provided. Engage in sourcing new parts and identifying new vendors to achieve cost savings.
  • Utilize requisitions with established quality and quantity standards while applying knowledge of vendor sources, assessing the suitability of offered materials and delivery options. Ensure timely follow-up on orders.
  • Manage daily purchasing activities. Responsible for identifying and nurturing potential vendors as primary and secondary sources for production components.
  • Collaborate with Quality Assurance to address supplier quality concerns to mitigate impacts on manufacturing processes; initiate and resolve supplier corrective actions in line with established policies.
  • Possess a thorough understanding of manufacturing procedures, Material Requirements Planning (MRP), and the legal aspects of procurement. Demonstrate working knowledge of Maintenance, Repair, and Operations (MRO) material procurement. Update Engineering Change Notices (ECN) with suppliers.
  • Monitor expected delivery timelines. Assist in expediting the delivery of critical components for production as necessary. Resolve discrepancies in invoices and other documentation issues. Provide insights and direction towards direct cost reduction initiatives.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred or three (3) years of relevant experience in procurement or a related field.
  • A minimum of three (3) years' experience in a manufacturing setting.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Effective communication skills with all internal and external stakeholders to ensure achievement of objectives.

Working Conditions

Office environment within a manufacturing facility.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to move, lift, and transport items weighing at least 20 lbs.
  • Capable of consistently operating a computer and office productivity equipment, such as calculators, copiers, and printers for a minimum of 6 hours daily.
  • Must be able to remain stationary for at least 2 hours per day.
  • Able to detect and rectify errors on paper and screens.
  • Must effectively communicate and exchange information with colleagues verbally, nonverbally, and in writing.
  • Ability to navigate throughout the facility and office areas to access file cabinets, office equipment, plant machinery, and other necessary locations.
  • Required to be physically present in the office full-time.
