Position Overview

The role of the IT Asset Coordinator is crucial in maintaining the efficiency and effectiveness of technology resources within the organization. This position is responsible for overseeing the lifecycle of IT assets, ensuring that all technology is accounted for and functioning optimally.

Key Responsibilities

  • Procurement Management: Supervise the acquisition of new computers and associated hardware, ensuring that all purchases align with institutional needs.
  • Software Licensing: Manage the procurement and renewal of software licenses, maintaining compliance with vendor agreements.
  • Inventory Control: Oversee the intake, tagging, and cataloging of new equipment to maintain an accurate inventory.
  • Replacement Oversight: Coordinate the scheduled replacement of outdated or obsolete technology to ensure up-to-date resources.
  • Employee Technology Setup: Ensure that new hires receive the necessary technology and support to begin their roles effectively.

Additional Duties

  • Decommissioning: Retrieve and properly dispose of technology that is no longer in use.
  • Inventory Development: Create and maintain a comprehensive inventory of all campus technology resources.
  • Website Management: Update and maintain information regarding computer purchases on the relevant departmental website.
  • E-Waste Management: Implement processes to manage electronic waste in accordance with environmental sustainability goals.
  • Professional Development: Engage in ongoing learning opportunities, including attending relevant conferences and webinars.

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree or equivalent coursework in Information Technology or Business Administration.
  • Basic knowledge of computer hardware and software.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Willingness to learn about inventory management software and asset tracking tools.
  • Interest in sustainability practices related to e-waste.
