Role Overview
In this position, you will be pivotal in shaping AWS's sales strategy, collaborating directly with the US Federal, Global Healthcare, Nonprofit, and Partner organizations to manage, optimize, and revolutionize the investment portfolio.

Collaboration and Analysis
You will work alongside senior leaders in Sales, Business Development, Engineering, and Finance to construct financial plans, evaluate large-scale investment opportunities, develop innovative go-to-market strategies, and pinpoint avenues for business expansion.

Key Responsibilities
As a vital finance partner to the US Federal, Global Healthcare, Nonprofit, and Partner teams, you will:

  • Collaborate with executive leadership to analyze inputs and outputs, assess business performance, and optimize asset allocation.
  • Develop and refine intricate financial models that evaluate program- and portfolio-level revenue, profit, and ROI impacts.
  • Establish business processes that provide ongoing insights and support daily decision-making.
  • Engage and influence across the AWS Sales, Finance, and Operations hierarchy, working with stakeholders to enhance customer experience, achieve shared objectives, and monitor risks.
  • Ensure compliance with controls and systems, creating new processes and controls as necessary to meet internal and external financial reporting requirements.

Basic Qualifications
5+ years of experience in tax, finance, or a related analytical field.
Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical discipline (e.g., engineering, math, computer science), or a Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of experience in a quantitative role (engineering, process re-engineering, quality assurance).

Preferred Qualifications
6+ years of experience in identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, determining root causes, and creating/implementing escalation plans.
6+ years of experience in solving complex business challenges through accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have demonstrable impacts on business (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits).
MBA or CPA.
Experience with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (e.g., SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards).
Experience in delivering forecasting, budgeting, variance analysis, and interpreting data results.
Knowledge of SQL/ETL.
6+ years of applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses.
6+ years of experience in building financial and operational reports/data sets that inform business decision-making.
6+ years of experience in creating process improvements through automation and analysis.
6+ years of participation in continuous improvement projects to enhance controllership with measurable outcomes.

Compensation
Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across various US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $85,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $179,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is determined by several factors including market location and may vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company, and depending on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be included as part of a total compensation package, alongside a comprehensive range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
