About the Worldwide Specialist Organization (WWSO)

The WWSO is a pivotal part of AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS), responsible for enhancing revenue and adoption across various customer segments, from small and mid-market to enterprise-level, including public sector organizations. Our approach is centered around understanding and addressing our customers' most pressing challenges, allowing us to craft and implement go-to-market strategies that transform AWS concepts into significant business opportunities.

Your Role

As a member of the WWSO Public Sector team, you will serve as a Technical Business Developer, guiding public sector entities in leveraging AWS technologies, particularly focusing on Amazon's Container services. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Engaging with CxO and VP-level stakeholders, as well as developers and technical architects, to facilitate adoption and drive revenue growth.
  • Establishing yourself as a trusted advisor through Technical Thought Leadership.
  • Creating and executing programs that utilize AWS Field teams and partner channels.
  • Collaborating with AWS Product and Technical teams to develop solutions that address customer needs, including reference architectures and automation strategies.
  • Working alongside Marketing to design and implement digital campaigns that enhance awareness and generate demand.
  • Owning the global GTM strategy and execution for Containers in the Public Sector, partnering with Sales, Marketing, and other specialists.

Basic Qualifications

  • 7+ years of relevant experience in GTM, Sales, or Consulting.
  • 5+ years of expertise in cloud-native applications and container orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes, ECS, EKS, Fargate, Docker, and Mesos.
  • Bachelor's Degree is required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with open-source software and software development methodologies.
  • Exceptional storytelling skills, particularly in data-driven contexts, with comfort in discussions with executives and developers.
  • Recognized expertise in your field with proven public speaking capabilities.
  • Cloud proficiency evidenced by relevant certifications.
  • An advanced degree, particularly an MBA or MS in Computer Science or Engineering, is highly preferred.
