Position Overview:

The University of Miami is seeking a Vice President of Clinical Financial Management to oversee and direct all financial operations related to clinical services. This role encompasses the management of financial policies, analysis, and overall financial governance within the clinical operations, which include hospitals, clinics, and physician practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and manage financial performance metrics across the clinical enterprise, ensuring alignment with internal goals and external benchmarks.
  • Conduct regular financial and productivity reviews, presenting findings to operational leadership.
  • Collaborate with senior leaders to coordinate strategic planning and financial oversight, focusing on identifying areas for operational improvement.
  • Lead the preparation and forecasting of operating plans in partnership with financial planning and analysis teams.
  • Provide training and support to operational managers on financial systems and reporting tools necessary for effective departmental management.
  • Ensure compliance with laws and regulations, safeguarding assets, and maintaining the integrity of internal and external reporting.
  • Foster a collaborative environment with clinical leadership to enhance financial operations and achieve organizational objectives.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, healthcare administration, or accounting.
  • CPA certification is preferred.
  • A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in a healthcare or academic healthcare setting.
  • At least 5 years of experience supporting leadership roles.
