The Senior Vice President (SVP) of Operational Excellence plays a pivotal role at ArchWell Health, directly impacting the operational effectiveness of the designated region. This leadership position entails guiding and empowering the market management team, managing substantial P&L responsibilities, and overseeing the growth, community engagement, and overall operations within the assigned territories. This role is tailored for individuals who excel in a fast-paced, evolving environment and are dedicated to revolutionizing healthcare delivery through visionary leadership and innovative practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic oversight and leadership for operations across approximately 30 locations and various distinct markets within the designated region.
- Enhance growth and operational efficiency in both existing and new centers, ensuring financial viability and superior patient care.
- Establish and nurture high-performing specialty networks for each market, including managing relationships and conducting Joint Operating Committees (JOCs) with provider groups that significantly influence clinical outcomes.
- Forge and maintain strong relationships with state-level regulatory bodies (e.g., AHCA) and collaborate with corporate functions to ensure adherence to local regulations pertinent to the region.
- Develop and sustain robust payor relationships at the regional level, including conducting regular JOCs and sharing relevant insights with corporate leadership.
- Lead ambitious growth and expansion initiatives, including the establishment of new centers and entry into new markets within the region.
- Directly oversee market-level leaders and manage the development of team members across all centers in the territory, promoting a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
- Manage the P&L for the division, accountable for all regional operations and achieving financial, growth, and operational key performance indicators (KPIs), with a strong emphasis on growth and member satisfaction.
- Collaborate with physicians and clinical staff to ensure a seamless, patient-centered care model.
- Engage in strategic planning with the executive leadership team, aligning operational strategies with the overarching goals of the organization.
- Partner with medical directors to cultivate a collaborative and effective provider culture that delivers exceptional patient care.
- Build relationships with local healthcare providers, health plans, insurance agencies, and community leaders.
- Adapt operational strategies in response to regulatory changes, ensuring compliance and innovative solutions in healthcare delivery.
- Lead change management initiatives, driving the adoption of best practices and innovative solutions in healthcare delivery.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- In-depth knowledge of the national payer and risk-bearing provider landscape.
- Strong business acumen with demonstrated experience in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resource modeling, leadership techniques, and operations.
- Proven track record in developing and implementing processes that ensure exceptional customer service.
- Ability to effectively leverage business and organizational knowledge across functional areas.
- High degree of emotional intelligence and integrity, coupled with a driven and focused work ethic.
- Self-starter with the capacity to think creatively and work effectively.
- Willingness to travel locally, regionally, and nationwide up to 50% of the time.
- Candidate must reside (or be willing to relocate) to the designated region, with a strong preference for an ArchWell Health market within that region.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Healthcare or Public Administration, Finance, Economics, or a related field; a Master's degree or MBA is preferred.
- A minimum of 7 years in a supervisory role within a medical setting, with at least 5 years of multi-site experience.
- At least 5 years of accountability for multi-million-dollar P&L management; prior experience with Medicare Advantage risk pool P&L is preferred.
- A minimum of 5 years of direct operational experience in Medicare Advantage, value-based models, managed care, or ACOs.
- At least 5 years of leadership experience in multisite operations.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in medical group operations.
- A visionary leader with substantial experience in healthcare operations, ideally in a multisite, growth-oriented organization.
- Demonstrated success in P&L management, with a strategic focus on driving profitability and operational efficiency.
- Deep understanding of Medicare Advantage programs and technology integration in healthcare operations.
- Exceptional leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire, motivate, and drive high performance across diverse teams.
- A strategic thinker who is also hands-on, capable of navigating complex challenges and seizing opportunities for growth.
- Experience in a dynamic environment, comfortable with ambiguity and rapid change.
