POSITION: SYSTEMS TEST TECHNICIAN

A leading Engineering Technology firm is in search of a Systems Test Technician responsible for the assembly, evaluation, troubleshooting, calibration, and repair of system assemblies and their sub-components.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assemble systems, which includes fabricating electrical panels and wiring according to engineering assembly schematics, as well as integrating necessary computers and software.
  • Utilize hand tools for tasks such as wire and cable cutting, stripping, crimping, soldering, and mechanical assembly, including cutting, drilling, and tapping.
  • Work on various system assemblies, including In-Vivo Systems, NDA Systems, and Criticality Systems, along with sub-components like pulsers and derandomizers to deliver comprehensive customer solutions.
  • Operate small production machinery during assembly processes while actively contributing to a safe and healthy work environment in compliance with safety regulations.
  • Employ testing instruments to measure resistance, voltage, frequency, current, and other parameters using voltmeters, oscilloscopes, counters, and specialized test equipment as per engineering guidelines.
  • Conduct basic troubleshooting and repair or replace defective components in instruments using schematics, hand tools, and soldering equipment, including disassembling instruments to inspect parts for defects.
  • Maintain quality assurance records related to repairs, calibrations, and testing of instruments.
  • Perform final assembly tasks, including hardware installation, wiring, soldering, and software setup.
  • Execute preliminary and final testing of completed products to ensure readiness for shipment.
  • Adhere to quality procedures and maintain accurate schedules.
  • Visually inspect manufactured items for cosmetic quality, workmanship, soldering accuracy, and compliance with quality standards.
  • Verify correct revision levels and markings according to engineering prints.
  • Investigate and identify components that are in error.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of one year of post-secondary education in electronics, electrical engineering, or a related field, or three years of relevant electronics experience.
  • Proficient soldering skills.
  • Experience with all types of testing equipment (e.g., meters, oscilloscopes).
  • Ability to interpret schematics and blueprints.
  • Understanding of basic electronic principles.
  • Capability to read and identify electronic components.
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
  • Good vision for detailed work (simple aids may be used as necessary).
  • Ability to comprehend and follow quality assurance procedures.
  • Physical capability to lift up to 50 lbs. with assistance.
