Position Overview:

We are currently seeking a skilled Automotive Technician to join our team, specifically for our operations supporting the Meriden School District. If you are passionate about vehicle maintenance and repair, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.

Key Responsibilities:

As an Automotive Technician at First Student, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting preventive maintenance, safety inspections, and annual DOT maintenance checks.
  • Diagnosing and executing repairs on all vehicle systems, including brakes, suspensions, drivetrains, and transmissions.
  • Ensuring accurate completion of work orders.
  • Providing assistance with mobile emergency services as needed.

Qualifications:

  • A valid driver's license is required; willingness to obtain a CDL while employed is essential – training will be provided.
  • 1 to 5 years of experience in automotive or diesel maintenance and repair, or relevant technical school education.
  • Possession of a personal mechanic's tool set is necessary.
  • A commitment to participate in the ASE certification program, with training, testing, and bonuses available.
  • Compliance with DOT drug testing regulations as a safety-sensitive employee.
