POSITION: SYSTEMS TEST TECHNICIAN

A prominent Engineering Technology firm is looking to recruit a Systems Test Technician responsible for the assembly, testing, troubleshooting, calibration, and repair of system assemblies and their sub-components.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assemble systems, which involves fabricating electrical panels and wiring according to engineering assembly drawings and schematics, along with integrating necessary computers and software.
  • Utilize hand tools for tasks such as wire and cable cutting, stripping, crimping, soldering, and performing mechanical assembly operations including cutting, drilling, and tapping.
  • Work on system assemblies, which may include In-Vivo Systems, NDA Systems, and Criticality Systems, as well as sub-components like pulsers and derandomizers to deliver comprehensive customer solutions.
  • Operate small production machinery during assembly processes while actively contributing to a safe and healthy work environment by adhering to all relevant safety regulations.
  • Employ test instruments to measure resistance, voltage, frequency, current, and other characteristics, utilizing voltmeters, oscilloscopes, counters, and specialized testing equipment in line with engineering protocols.
  • Conduct basic troubleshooting and repair or replace defective components in instruments, using schematics and hand tools, including soldering and de-soldering equipment.
  • Maintain quality assurance records for the calibration and testing of instruments.
  • Oversee final assembly processes, which include hardware setup, wiring, soldering, and software installation.
  • Perform preliminary and final testing of completed products to ensure readiness for shipment.
  • Adhere to quality procedures and maintain accurate schedules.
  • Visually inspect manufactured items for quality, workmanship, and compliance with specifications.
  • Verify proper revision levels and markings according to engineering prints.
  • Investigate and identify components that are in error.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A minimum of one year of post-secondary education in electronics, electrical engineering, or a related field, or three years of relevant electronics experience.
  • Proficient soldering skills.
  • Experience with various test equipment, including meters and oscilloscopes.
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics and blueprints.
  • Understanding of basic electronic principles.
  • Capability to identify and read electronic components.
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
  • Good eyesight for detailed work, with the option to use simple aids as necessary.
  • Competence in reading and adhering to quality assurance procedures.
  • Ability to safely lift up to 50 lbs with assistance.
