POSITION: SYSTEMS TEST TECHNICIAN

A leading Engineering Technology firm is looking for a Systems Test Technician to perform assembly, testing, troubleshooting, calibration, and repair of system assemblies and sub-components for their innovative products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assemble systems including electrical panel fabrication and wiring according to engineering assembly drawings and schematics, integrating computers and software as necessary.
  • Utilize hand tools for wire and cable cutting, stripping, crimping, and soldering, as well as for mechanical assembly tasks such as cutting, drilling, and tapping.
  • Work on various system assemblies, including In-Vivo Systems, NDA Systems, and Criticality Systems, along with sub-components like pulsers and derandomizers to deliver comprehensive customer solutions.
  • Operate small production machinery during assembly processes while actively contributing to a safe and healthy work environment in compliance with all safety regulations.
  • Employ test instruments to measure resistance, voltage, frequency, current, and other characteristics, using voltmeters, oscilloscopes, counters, and specialized test equipment in line with engineering protocols.
  • Conduct basic troubleshooting, repair, or replacement of defective components in instruments, utilizing schematics, hand tools, and soldering equipment, including disassembly and inspection of parts for defects.
  • Maintain quality assurance records for repairs, calibrations, and testing of instruments.
  • Perform final assembly tasks, including hardware installation, wiring, soldering, and software setup.
  • Execute preliminary and final testing of completed products to ensure functionality and readiness for shipment.
  • Adhere to quality procedures and maintain accuracy in scheduling.
  • Visually inspect manufactured items for cosmetic and workmanship quality, ensuring conformance to drawings and standards.
  • Verify proper revision levels and markings according to specifications.
  • Investigate and identify components that are in error.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of one year of post-secondary education in electronics, electrical engineering, or a related field, or three years of relevant electronics experience.
  • Proficient soldering skills.
  • Experience with all types of test equipment (meters, oscilloscopes, etc.).
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics and blueprints.
  • Understanding of basic electronic principles.
  • Capability to read and identify electronic components.
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
  • Good eyesight for close-up tasks (may use simple aids as necessary).
  • Competence in reading and adhering to quality assurance procedures.
  • Ability to safely lift up to 50 lbs with assistance.
