Lead Analyst for Financial Planning and Systems - InsideHigherEd

Position Overview

The Lead Analyst for Financial Planning and Systems will play a crucial role in evaluating, configuring, and enhancing our Financial Planning and Analysis system, specifically focusing on Adaptive Planning. This position will provide essential support to the budgeting team and various stakeholders across the organization.

The successful candidate will be responsible for documenting operational and business requirements, as well as defining, configuring, and implementing business processes and system modifications within our financial systems. This will be achieved through close collaboration with the budgeting team and other relevant departments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough analyses of existing workflows and provide actionable recommendations for enhancements.
  • Design, develop, test, and implement systems and processes that align with organizational requirements while adhering to best practices in change management and system development.
  • Oversee technical configurations, including business process workflows, custom fields, validations, reports, dashboards, integrations, and user access rights.
  • Prepare and deliver communications and presentations regarding system modifications to stakeholders.
  • Engage with a diverse range of stakeholders, including both functional and technical teams with varying levels of expertise.
  • Collaborate with external organizations within the Workday Community to exchange knowledge and uphold industry best practices.
  • Coordinate with product management to provide insights on system improvements and future developments.
  • Assist in maintaining the financial training program and offer user support services.
  • Innovate training processes to enhance user engagement and effectiveness.


Work Interaction and Designation

Reporting to the Director of Financial Systems and Processes, the Lead Analyst for Financial Planning and Systems will work closely with the Director of Financial Planning and Analysis and other key partners.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Accounting, or Finance (consideration will be given to a combination of education and relevant experience).
  • 4 to 6+ years of hands-on experience in financial system support, data management, or business operations involving ERP software, with a preference for 3+ years in Workday administration.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to learn and adapt to evolving stakeholder needs and system capabilities.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to deliver high-quality results efficiently.
  • Proficient in documenting technical requirements that align with stakeholder priorities.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks effectively based on stakeholder needs.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of financial applications and modern data analysis tools.
  • Experience in analyzing and documenting business processes in a technical format.
  • Familiarity with project management software.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree, Workday Pro certification, or CPA license.
  • Proven project management skills with a focus on financial systems implementation.
  • Experience leading projects to implement new financial systems.
  • Familiarity with Cognos BI tools.
  • Experience with financial planning tools and ERP systems.
  • Understanding of the higher education sector.
  • Project management experience and relevant certifications.


Compensation

The anticipated salary range for this position is between $80,000 and $157,238.93, based on various factors including qualifications, experience, and organizational needs.
