Job Overview

The Easter Seal Society of Iowa is seeking Certified Medication Managers to contribute to our supportive environment at Camp Sunnyside.

We are looking for individuals who can commit to flexible hours while ensuring the well-being of our campers.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate under the guidance of a Registered Nurse.
  • Adhere to established medical protocols, including documentation, safe disposal of medical waste, and management of medications.
  • Conduct inventory and oversee the administration of medications received at the health center.
  • Assist in entering Medication Administration Records (MARS) into the system and maintain communication with guardians and caregivers.
  • Organize MARS and related documentation for each cabin.
  • Provide first aid assistance to campers and staff as necessary.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization within the health center.
  • Support team members in ensuring that all care and supervision needs are met according to established protocols.
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of each camper's medication administration records, including the effects and potential side effects of medications.
  • Ensure compliance with all policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
  • Assist in completing all required documentation in line with program protocols.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years old at the time of employment.
  • High School diploma or equivalent is preferred.
  • Certification in an approved medication management program is required.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to accept supervision and work collaboratively with others.
  • Physical capability to bend, stoop, twist, and lift as needed.
  • Ability to safely transfer or move individuals weighing up to eighty pounds.
  • Must complete CPR (Adult and Child) and First Aid training within the first 90 days of employment.
  • Must complete Mandatory Reporter training for Child and Dependent Adult Abuse within the first 30 days of employment.
  • Must be able to administer medications safely in accordance with the organization's policies.
  • Must have reliable transportation for regular work participation.

The interview process includes an initial phone interview followed by a second interview with a team leader.
