Overview:
The HMSA Center Associate plays a crucial role in delivering a unique, engaging, and positive experience for our customers at HMSA. This position focuses on providing high-quality service, sales, and support to ensure customer satisfaction.

As a representative of HMSA, the Associate is tasked with promoting our brand and upholding our commitment to exceptional consumer service for the People of Hawaii.

Key Responsibilities:
Customer Experience:
Deliver an outstanding customer-focused experience at the HMSA Center. Strive to meet and exceed customer expectations while effectively communicating HMSA's brand message and dedication to service excellence.

Foster strong relationships with customers by becoming their trusted advisor and fulfilling commitments.

Understand the comprehensive range of products and services offered. Identify customer needs, analyze issues, and propose tailored solutions.

Facilitate acceptance of solutions and resolve customer inquiries or sales opportunities.

Product Knowledge:
Conduct thorough product comparisons to determine eligibility and identify optimal solutions, highlighting benefits and features that cater to customer needs.

Educate customers on how to utilize HMSA resources effectively, including healthcare and cost information tools.

Provide clear guidance on changes in the healthcare landscape and their implications for customers.

Sales and Service Goals:
Support HMSA Center's objectives related to sales, service, membership, and customer satisfaction.
Ensure customers are well-informed about their products, benefits, and tools for effective use.
Assist with phone inquiries as necessary.
Environment Maintenance:
Maintain a clean and professional appearance in common areas of the HMSA Center.
Restock collateral and refreshment stations as needed.
Welcoming Atmosphere:
Create a friendly and inviting environment for customers.
Greet customers warmly upon entry and express gratitude as they leave.
Engage with customers to uncover their needs and provide solutions.

Utilize sound judgment to guide customers through their HMSA Center experience and facilitate referrals to management or specialists when necessary.

Training and Development:
Stay current with ongoing training requirements and product knowledge.

Understand market trends and competitive activities that influence consumer decisions.

Assist customers in utilizing self-service tools effectively.

Compliance and Standards:
Adhere to operational guidelines, service standards, and compliance requirements.
Provide feedback on corporate policies and marketing initiatives to the HMSA Center Manager.
Additional Responsibilities:
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Associate's degree and two years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Possession of an active license with the state of Hawaii Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs or successful completion of the state licensing examination within three months of hire.
