Position Overview
SAIC is in search of a seasoned Senior Capture Manager to spearhead growth and capture strategies within the Space and Intelligence Business Group. This role entails overseeing and managing one to three key pursuits, with full accountability for the maturation of proposed solutions through established Corporate Business Development and Capture Management Processes. This includes developing strategies, conducting competitive analyses, forming partnerships, and crafting compelling proposals.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and qualify initial capture activities to build a robust pipeline that aligns with the growth objectives of the Space Business Group. The Director will also lead strategic engagements with USSF and shape growth strategies to secure new business awards in Defense Space.
- Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of capture development and integration programs for space platforms and ground systems, particularly with USSF customers.
- Provide leadership in executing effective capture plans, adhering to internal protocols while emphasizing win strategies, themes, and value propositions.
- Manage and lead capture teams effectively, ensuring resource needs are communicated and leveraging assigned resources for successful proposal development.
- Gather, assess, and validate customer requirements to inform capture strategies.
- Evaluate potential competition and conduct thorough assessments of strengths and threats.
- Translate customer requirements into a robust win strategy, validated through rigorous testing, and advance this strategy to management and technical design.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to maintain operational excellence and resolve conflicts.
- Identify gaps in strategies and develop plans to mitigate risks while creating differentiators.
- Conduct and participate in various reviews, documenting lessons learned to improve future capture efforts.
- Execute teaming strategies and negotiate agreements to foster strategic alliances.
- Manage assigned captures as the opportunity owner, ensuring adherence to budget and schedules.
- Drive the development of critical bid artifacts necessary for proposal success, supporting the Proposal Manager/Director in creating compliant bids.
- Assume responsibility for advancing opportunities towards high win probabilities.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 18 years of experience in capture management or related business roles within the Civil/Commercial and/or Space sectors.
- Must be a US citizen and able to obtain a TS clearance.
- A Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant field, with extensive experience in lieu of a degree considered.
- Demonstrated success in the capture process and a thorough understanding of various contract types and payment structures.
- Ability to execute quick reaction processes for proposals and engage effectively with customers.
- Strong influence and communication skills at senior corporate levels.
- Proven expertise in capture management aligned with industry best practices.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, problem-solving abilities, and business acumen.
- Confidence in communicating with senior executives and working in fast-paced environments.
- Willingness to travel as necessary to support capture efforts.
