United Way Miami, Inc. is seeking a Help Desk Technician to enhance our operations. As a Help Desk Technician at United Way Miami, you will deliver technological support to all staff members both on-site and at managed locations.

Key Responsibilities:

Help Desk Support: Provide on-site and remote technical assistance to United Way staff and managed site personnel; diagnose and resolve issues. Duties include resetting passwords, unlocking user accounts, troubleshooting network connectivity problems, installing peripheral devices, and configuring laptops and mobile devices. Address problem areas efficiently and accurately; escalate issues to the Managed IT Support (MITS) vendor as necessary. Conduct technology orientation training for new hires and provide basic application training as required. Manage the internal help desk ticketing system and co-manage the ticketing process. Deliver exceptional customer service by following up with staff to ensure timely resolution of tickets.

  1. Inventory Management: Oversee equipment inventory for United Way, CFE, EHS, and MU, including desktops, mobile devices, and printers/copiers. Assist with upgrade initiatives and schedule adjustments to minimize disruptions. Organize maintenance and warranty information for equipment. Collaborate with vendors to troubleshoot and repair hardware and peripheral devices.
  2. Audio Visual Support: Manage and support audio-visual equipment in conference rooms. Coordinate maintenance with vendors and the Campus Operations Manager. Train staff on equipment usage for all conference rooms. Develop user guides to assist presenters with system setup. Provide assistance to internal and external presenters with equipment setup as needed.
  3. Telecommunications Management: Oversee user access to the telecommunications system, including modifications to user accounts, setup and management of the auto attendant, call queues, phone sets, and video conferencing protocols. Procure, configure, and install new equipment. Provide user training and create documentation.
  • Cybersecurity Support: Assist in the creation and scheduling of simulated cybersecurity phishing emails sent to staff. Review the user list for completion, follow up with staff as necessary, and provide quarterly analysis to management.

Education Requirements: High School diploma or equivalent experience.

Experience Requirements: Preferably at least one year of experience in IT.

Technology Requirements: Familiarity with various operating systems such as Windows 10 and Apple iOS. Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office 2019 and Office 365 applications.

Essential Skills: Excellent communication and customer service skills are essential.
