Job Summary

Zenith LifeScience is seeking a highly skilled Senior Systems Administrator to join our Enterprise IT, R&D Solutions organization. This hands-on role will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of new and existing systems, both on-premises and in the Cloud (AWS).

Key Responsibilities
  1. Hybrid IT Operations: Provide day-to-day support for our hybrid IT environment, ensuring seamless operation of systems and applications.
  2. System Administration: Responsible for the daily administration of on-premises (VMware) and cloud (AWS) environments, including infrastructure services, backups, and incident response.
  3. Disaster Recovery: Manage disaster recovery for servers, databases, and file shares, ensuring business continuity in the event of an outage.
  4. Endpoint Management: Administer endpoint dependencies, including central patching, application delivery, and updates, to ensure a secure and up-to-date environment.
  5. Infrastructure Management: Support and manage infrastructure devices, including LAN, WAN, VPN, Firewall, Switches, Routers, and Server Hardware.
  6. Security Management: Manage security certificates and maintain technical configuration and knowledge base documentation.
  7. Monitoring and Alerting: Respond to and resolve monitoring and alerting issues, ensuring prompt attention to system performance and security.
  8. Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot and address hardware, software, and OS-related issues, providing timely resolutions to minimize downtime.
  9. Escalation Management: Manage escalations, both internal and external, to ensure prompt attention and resolution.
  10. Testing and Implementation: Participate in testing and implementation of new or upgraded servers and software applications, ensuring seamless integration with existing systems.
  11. Project Participation: Participate in local, regional, and global projects under the supervision of senior staff, contributing to the success of Zenith LifeScience's IT initiatives.
  12. Training and Development: Support and supplement available training for end-user service or application issues, including Linux OS, to ensure a skilled and knowledgeable team.
  13. Storage System Support: Provide support to on-prem and Cloud storage systems based on NetApp platforms, ensuring optimal performance and availability.
  14. Co-Op Program Support: Participate and provide mentoring in the IT department's Co-Op program, assisting Co-Ops with improving IT workflows and processes, while enabling them to learn and apply new technologies.
  15. On-Call Support: Participate in rotational backup support of 24/7/365 global applications as part of an on-call rotation, ensuring prompt attention to system performance and security.
Requirements
  1. Education: Bachelor's degree in Systems, Network Administration, or equivalent experience.
  2. Experience: 4+ years of experience managing Windows client and Server operating systems in an Active Directory environment.
  3. Technical Skills: Experience with Linux Operating Systems (Ubuntu, CentOS, RedHat, or AWS Linux), networking, and troubleshooting network protocols.
  4. Problem-Solving: Demonstrated problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to learn quickly and perform under timeline expectations.
  5. Communication: Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to collaborate and work productively with IT staff and research scientists of highly diverse backgrounds.
  6. Physical Demands: Ability to lift 50lbs and move standard IT equipment, with the ability to manage computer and equipment setup requiring accessing cabling behind desks and on the floor.
