Senior Systems Administrator Role

This role necessitates an active Top Secret clearance, with all tasks to be performed on-site during standard business hours, Monday through Friday, totaling 40 hours per week with flexible scheduling options.

All activities will be classified and executed within a Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF).



Preferred Qualifications:
  • Proficiency with Linux operating systems
  • Desirable vendor-specific certifications from Cisco, Microsoft, or Dell


Security Requirement:

The candidate must hold a current Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility.

The Senior Systems Administrator is integral to various small to medium-sized dynamic research and development environments, providing support for users' daily operations, system upkeep, IT infrastructure maintenance, and the design, development, documentation, and deployment of IT solutions.

The individual will be responsible for a broad spectrum of IT competencies, including data management, knowledge management, customer support, technical assistance, network services, system administration, and systems security analysis. Additionally, mentoring team members and leading IT initiatives to resolve business challenges are essential duties.

In close collaboration with the dedicated program area Information System Security Manager (ISSM) and Program Security Manager, the candidate will assist the Operations Deputy.



Essential Functions:
  • Assist and mentor fellow team members
  • Develop project plans, architecture diagrams, test plans, and communicate effectively with users
  • Conduct system tests to ensure compliance with specifications
  • Install, configure, troubleshoot, and maintain server setups
  • Manage user accounts, firewalls, patches, and provide daily support
  • Maintain and update documentation, including standard operating procedures
  • Perform technical inspections to identify and mitigate security vulnerabilities
  • Collaborate closely with the Information Assurance group for system accreditation
  • Engage in system troubleshooting, vendor coordination, software patching, and system deployment


Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
  • Must possess and maintain a US DoD Top Secret Security Clearance
  • Security+ certification or higher professional certifications in accordance with DoD M, IAT Level II, and IAM Level I
  • Bachelor of Science in Information Technology or a related field, along with 5-7 years of relevant experience or 10+ years of experience without a degree
  • Experience with Windows operating systems
  • Knowledge and understanding of various regulations and security technologies
  • Demonstrated experience with infrastructure implementation and administration
  • Ability to research technologies and propose mitigation strategies
  • Strong project management and communication skills
