Environmental Sustainability Coordinator

This role will collaborate closely with the Environmental Health & Safety Director to shape and execute the sustainability objectives, policies, and programs of the organization.

Key Responsibilities:


• Formulate a comprehensive sustainability strategy for United Refrigeration, Inc. and its subsidiaries as instructed.


• Create and oversee metrics that bolster the company's sustainability endeavors and initiatives.


• Examine and document SCOPE 2 activities for United Refrigeration, Inc. and its subsidiaries.


• Focus on reducing CO2 emissions and minimizing the carbon footprint.


• Explore recycling and waste management alternatives aimed at achieving zero landfill.


• Collaborate with suppliers to advocate for sustainable packaging solutions.


• Stay informed on Federal and State regulatory developments pertaining to sustainability and carbon reduction.


• Assemble project teams and relay progress updates to executive leadership.


• Design and implement employee training programs.


• Engage in trade associations and relevant working groups.


• Manage extended producer responsibility initiatives as necessary.


• Oversee carbon offset projects associated with refrigerant reclamation and disposal.


• Coordinate responses to sustainability surveys from customers as needed.


• Gather sustainability and related data from supply chain partners.


• Compile and submit environmental and regulatory compliance reports for Federal, State, and Local programs for United Refrigeration, Inc. and its subsidiaries.


• Manage compliance efforts related to PFAS, Prop 65, REACH, and RoHS.


• Perform additional job-related tasks as assigned.

Skills Required:


• Exceptional communication abilities with a knack for collaborating and influencing both internal and external stakeholders.


• Background in the ESG sector, preferably within a manufacturing or distribution context.


• Proven experience in driving projects and their associated teams to meet established goals and objectives.


• Strong analytical capabilities with the ability to interpret data and formulate strategic recommendations.


• Proficient verbal and written communication skills.


• Ability to work autonomously.


• Strong technical proficiency, particularly with Microsoft O365 applications.


• Process-oriented mindset with sound judgment and decision-making skills.


• Excellent organizational abilities.

Desirable Skills:


• Experience in sustainability reporting and project management.


• Knowledge of greenhouse gas emissions management.


• Expertise in waste reduction planning and initiatives.
