Responsibilities
Build Relationships: Cultivate, develop, and execute location strategies for organizations. Maintain a robust pipeline of business development opportunities for both new and existing clients.
Network: Utilize social media and other channels to expand your professional connections.
Engagement: Participate in and present at industry events, workshops, and seminars.
Understand Our Clients: Demonstrate industry knowledge and its relevance to GIS applications. Identify key stakeholders and business drivers within organizations. Grasp customer budgeting and acquisition processes.
Solution Selling: Employ solution-oriented selling techniques to comprehend customer needs and business challenges.
Continuous Learning: Clearly convey the strengths and benefits of Esri technology as it pertains to state governments. Regularly conduct research and pursue professional development to anticipate client needs and emerging trends.
Deliver Results: Effectively manage the account management and sales processes for all opportunities. Utilize visual storytelling techniques to propose solutions that align with customer needs.
Collaborate: Leverage your domain expertise while working with teams across Esri to define and implement account strategies.
Be Proactive: Exhibit motivation and resourcefulness, taking the initiative to resolve challenges. Requirements
• 3+ years of experience in enterprise sales or relevant consulting and program management.
• Proven ability to create partnerships and establish yourself as a trusted advisor to clients.
• Understanding of account management, strategic planning, and opportunity development.
• Demonstrated knowledge of state government operations and emerging technology trends, with the ability to translate this into actionable solutions for clients.
• Proficient in negotiation, presentation, and visual storytelling across all organizational levels.
• Willingness to travel domestically or internationally 25-50%.
• Bachelor's or master's degree in GIS, business administration, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
Recommended Qualifications
• Familiarity with GIS, Esri technology, and their interplay with state government.
• Experience managing the sales lifecycle.
• General knowledge of data science or spatial analysis and its application in problem-solving and identifying patterns within organizations.
• Understanding of industry fiscal cycles, budgeting, and procurement processes.
