Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate closely with the Maintenance Manager to plan and coordinate maintenance operations, including preventive maintenance, repairs, and upgrades, ensuring minimal disruption and optimal equipment functionality.
  • Lead and mentor a team of maintenance technicians, providing necessary training and support to enhance their performance and efficiency.
  • Work in partnership with production and engineering teams to prioritize maintenance tasks, scheduling downtime for repairs and upgrades to minimize production interruptions.

Essential Duties

  • Establish and execute maintenance schedules and protocols to guarantee the proper upkeep of all manufacturing equipment and facilities.
  • Conduct routine inspections of equipment and facilities to detect potential issues and implement preventive maintenance strategies.
  • Diagnose equipment failures and breakdowns, coordinating repairs to ensure swift resolution and reduced downtime.
  • Maintain comprehensive records of maintenance activities, including work orders, equipment logs, and inventory of spare parts.
  • Ensure adherence to safety regulations and company policies, fostering a culture of safety awareness among maintenance personnel.
  • Collaborate with procurement teams to source and acquire necessary parts, tools, and equipment for maintenance tasks.
  • Assist the Maintenance Manager in overseeing maintenance budgets, tracking expenditures, and identifying cost-saving measures.
  • Promote a safety-first culture and compliance with safety protocols among maintenance staff, ensuring alignment with company policies and regulatory standards.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and technological advancements in maintenance and manufacturing, implementing relevant improvements as necessary.

Qualifications

To excel in this role, candidates should possess:

  • A minimum of two years of experience in a maintenance supervisory capacity, ideally within a manufacturing context, demonstrating strong leadership capabilities.
  • A solid mechanical aptitude and technical expertise in manufacturing equipment, particularly in plastics processing.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities, with a knack for quickly diagnosing and resolving mechanical challenges.
  • Strong communication skills, enabling clear and concise conveyance of technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the capacity to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects concurrently.
  • Proficiency in computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and relevant software applications.
  • Competence in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, for creating and editing documents, spreadsheets, and presentations.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in a manufacturing environment, with a commitment to maintaining a safe workplace.
