Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Specialist III to join our team at the Texas Department of Aging & Disability Services. As a key member of our facilities maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing routine and moderately complex maintenance and repair work on buildings, utility systems, and stationary equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct inspections, adjustments, installations, maintenance, and repairs on buildings, utility systems, and stationary equipment.
  • Operate motorized equipment, requisition materials and supplies, and maintain records.
  • Communicate verbally and in writing with other team members and stakeholders.
  • Work independently or as part of a team to achieve maintenance and repair goals.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, including training others and participating in disaster response and recovery efforts.
Requirements:
  • Knowledge of building mechanical systems, electrical distribution systems, electronics, boilers, painting, and carpentry.
  • Ability to perform maintenance, follow instructions, estimate materials, and apply proper methods and techniques.
  • Ability to interpret drawings, schematics, or sketches and work independently or as part of a team.
  • Ability to solve problems, make decisions, and use good judgment.
