Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Specialist V to join our team at the Texas Department of Aging & Disability Services. As a key member of our facilities maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing advanced restoration, renovation, and building maintenance work in a designated skilled trade.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform renovation, restoration, alteration, and maintenance work on buildings, utility systems, and stationary equipment.
  • Inspect, adjust, install, and repair buildings, utility systems, and stationary equipment.
  • Process paperwork related to work orders, projects, and material requisitions.
  • Train, assign, and prioritize the work of others.
  • Work under minimal supervision, with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.
Requirements:
  • Knowledge of the repair, maintenance, and operations of buildings, building systems, and grounds.
  • Ability to perform maintenance, follow instructions, estimate materials, and apply proper methods, techniques, and procedures in the maintenance and repair of buildings, building, and utility systems.
  • Ability to interpret drawings, schematics, or sketches.
  • Ability to organize preventive maintenance programs.
  • Ability to work independently or with a team.
Working Conditions:

This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with frequent deadlines and changing priorities. The successful candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a team, with minimal supervision.
