Physician III

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Physician III to join our team as a Psychiatrist in the State Supported Living Centers (SSLC). The successful candidate will be responsible for providing advanced psychiatric assessment and treatment services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Key Responsibilities:- Conduct psychiatric assessments and develop individualized treatment plans for residents
- Administer psychiatric treatments and medications within SSLC policies and procedures
- Collaborate with the Interdisciplinary Team (IDT) to ensure high-quality patient care
- Participate in medication reviews and other meetings as requested by the IDT or administrators
- Develop and implement psychiatric treatment plans, documenting how supports and interventions are customized for individual needs
- Ensure collaboration between psychiatry and neurology for dually diagnosed individuals
- Consult with other psychiatrists, medical staff, and behavioral health specialists to develop behavioral interventions and identify environmental factors impacting psychiatric care
- Knowledge of methods and procedures in general medicine and general psychiatry
- Knowledge of principles of behavior treatment and ability to work collaboratively with behavioral health staff
- Knowledge of state formulary guidelines for maximum doses and ability to document exceptions
- Ability to assess, diagnose, and prescribe/supervise treatment to assigned patients
- Ability to direct psychiatric activities, examine, diagnose, and treat mental disorders
- Ability to work independently using good judgment and advanced time management skills
