Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Specialist V to join our team at the Texas Department of Aging & Disability Services. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for performing advanced maintenance and repair work on our buildings and systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on building systems, including electrical, plumbing, and HVAC.
  • Conduct inspections and troubleshoot issues with building systems and equipment.
  • Perform repairs and renovations to modernize buildings and adapt them to new uses.
  • Design and implement projects to conform to applicable codes and standards.
  • Lead and supervise the work of others on construction, maintenance, and repair projects.
  • Maintain accurate records of work orders, projects, and material requisitions.
  • Operate and maintain motorized vehicles and equipment.
  • Provide inspections on work performed by contractors to ensure contract compliance.
Requirements
  • Knowledge of industrial safety, fire, and safety regulations.
  • Ability to perform maintenance, follow instructions, estimate materials, and apply proper methods, techniques, and procedures.
  • Ability to interpret drawings, schematics, or sketches.
  • Ability to organize preventive maintenance programs.
  • Ability to work independently or with a team.
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally or in writing with other members of the maintenance and facility team.
Working Conditions

This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to prioritize tasks effectively. The successful candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a team, and will have excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
