Mythical Games is in search of a proficient Senior Manager, Accounting to enhance our expanding Accounting & Finance division. The Senior Accounting Manager will oversee the management and preservation of precise financial records, evaluate financial data, and deliver strategic insights to bolster the company's financial goals. This position demands a robust accounting background, meticulous attention to detail, and the capability to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced setting, reporting directly to the Director of Finance.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Financial Reporting:
  • Generate and assess monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in line with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) or applicable accounting standards.
  • Conduct variance analysis and provide insights into financial performance, identifying trends and suggesting appropriate actions.
  • Oversee the consolidation of financial statements for both domestic and international entities.
  • Assist in the creation of ad hoc financial reports and presentations.
  1. General Accounting:
  • Supervise the month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries and reconciliations.
  • Maintain the general ledger, ensuring the accurate and timely recording of financial transactions.
  1. Compliance and Auditing:
  • Guarantee adherence to accounting policies, procedures, and relevant regulatory requirements.
  • Manage internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance internal controls and financial processes.
  1. Process Improvement:
  • Identify opportunities for process enhancement and automation to improve efficiency and accuracy.
  • Work with the finance team to implement new accounting software or systems as required.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree or higher in an accounting-related discipline with over 6 years of experience. A CPA or equivalent certification is mandatory.
  • In-depth knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and accounting principles.
  • Proficient in accounting software and tools (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, or similar systems).
  • Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to present financial data and recommendations to senior management.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment and communicate complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.

The anticipated base salary range for this position is determined by the location where the employee's work will be performed and aligns with one of our three compensation pay range tiers. Base pay is just one component of Mythical's total compensation package, which is designed to reward and recognize employees for their contributions. This role is also eligible for participation in Mythical's Corporate Bonus and Equity Plan.

Pay Ranges by Tier:

Tier 1: $110,000 - $152,000
Tier 2: $99,000 - $136,000
Tier 3: $88,000 - $121,000

Locations by Tier:

Tier 1 Locations: San Francisco Bay Area - California

Tier 2 Locations: Remainder of California (outside of the SF Bay Area), Washington state, Massachusetts state, New York state

Tier 3 Locations: All other states outside of California, Washington, Massachusetts, and New York

*The role is open to candidates in the following states on a remote basis: California, Colorado, Florida, Illinois, Kansas, Maryland, Massachusetts, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, Texas & Washington.

The base salary for each successful applicant will depend on various factors, including work location, education, qualifications, competencies, relevant work experience, business needs, and market demands. Consequently, in some cases, the actual salary could fall outside of this expected range. This pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
