The Lead Accounting Strategist will oversee a range of financial activities to ensure adherence to generally accepted accounting principles, corporate standards, and external audits.
This individual will play a crucial role in managing the monthly account closure and the preparation of reports that support the financial statements.
The ideal candidate demonstrates strong leadership skills, a solid operational and technical accounting foundation, and a proactive approach to achieving results.This person is a self-motivated individual, adaptable, possesses a high level of integrity, and is focused on action and goals within a dynamic, team-oriented, and collaborative environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Oversee the monthly financial closing process, ensuring all incurred costs are accurately recorded, reviewing journal entries, reconciling account balances, and preparing reports.
Contribute to the ongoing development and establishment of accounting policies and procedures as well as operational strategies, including the review and implementation of process and system enhancements.
Engage in strategic financial initiatives, including upgrades and implementation of ERP software.
Ensure compliance with internal control policies.
Collaborate with external auditors to guarantee successful audit outcomes and compliance.
Interact with all levels of the organization and with budget owners or other stakeholders to produce timely, efficient, and accurate month-end close and all internal management and financial reporting through annual reports.
Make recommendations for necessary changes and ensure adherence to company policies and procedures while establishing effective techniques to detect and prevent fraud.
Assist in summarizing feedback on financial statement variances to budget.
Actively review and provide insights on financial and accounting processes.
Support the month-end and year-end closing processes.
Review general ledger reconciliations for several key areas.
Manage general accounting areas including fixed assets, capitalized software, intercompany transactions, leasing, order to cash, and expense accruals.
Ensure record-keeping complies with US GAAP.
Supervise a team of 2-3 accountants.
QUALIFICATIONS
8+ years of experience in the apparel, ecommerce, or related industry (public/private).
3+ years of experience in a managerial or supervisory capacity.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related business field.
CPA certification preferred.
Comprehensive understanding of US GAAP.
Experience in a multinational corporation.
Familiarity with general ledger functions.
Ability to manage deadline-driven processes in a fast-paced environment.
The base salary range for this position is $100,000-$140,000 per year, reflecting the current range for the base salary for this exempt role. Please note that actual salaries may vary based on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance.
As such, on occasion and when applicable, there is the possibility that the final, agreed-upon base salary may exceed the upper end of the range.
Please also note that the range listed is just one component of the company's total rewards package for exempt employees. Other rewards may include performance bonuses, long-term incentives, a PTO policy, and many other progressive benefits.#LI-HW4
