Position Overview:

The Audit Supervisor for Climate and Environmental Risk plays a crucial role in overseeing complex audit functions related to environmental and climate-related risks. This position is essential for ensuring that the organization adheres to regulatory standards and maintains a robust control environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive audit coverage and testing of critical areas concerning climate and environmental risks across the organization.
  • Implement audit strategies that prioritize risk-based auditing, defining the scope and developing audit programs while utilizing innovative methodologies.
  • Utilize extensive knowledge of products and business operations to effectively challenge management practices and enhance the control environment.
  • Evaluate the impact of business processes and controls, providing insightful recommendations regarding risk severity.
  • Contribute to the drafting of audit reports and communicate findings to business leaders effectively.
  • Mentor and support the development of team members, fostering an inclusive and collaborative work atmosphere.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with business partners to enhance organizational knowledge.
  • Employ advanced tools and techniques to streamline audit processes and improve efficiency.
  • Lead the identification of key risks and controls, designing and executing thorough testing plans.
  • Ensure that all audit testing aligns with established methodologies and industry standards.
  • Oversee the validation of audit issues while managing multiple audit assignments concurrently.
  • Stay informed about regulatory changes and emerging risks, contributing to the strategic planning of audit activities.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in auditing within the financial services sector.
  • Demonstrated expertise in audit practices specific to the financial industry.
  • Exceptional critical thinking, communication, and project management skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to grasp complex subject matter and develop testing programs to ensure compliance and mitigate risks.
  • Track record of managing multiple projects simultaneously while delivering high-quality results within tight deadlines.
  • Capability to lead, coach, and mentor junior team members, positively influencing their professional growth.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • Relevant certifications such as CPA, CIA, or CISA.
  • Experience in financial statement auditing and consulting.
  • Familiarity with evaluating workflows, systems, and data mining.
  • Knowledge of SEC financial reporting requirements.
