Position Summary: We are in search of a proactive and forward-thinking Director of Product Development to spearhead the advancement of our innovative EV charging systems. This pivotal role encompasses the entire product lifecycle, from initial idea generation to final design, development, and market introduction. The ideal candidate will collaborate extensively with various teams, including engineering, design, compliance, and marketing, to ensure our offerings achieve the utmost standards of quality, functionality, and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Product Ideation:
  • Direct the brainstorming and conceptualization of new EV charging solutions, ensuring they align with market dynamics, consumer preferences, and organizational objectives.
  • Engage with stakeholders to articulate product vision, strategy, and timelines.
  • Design & Development Oversight:
  • Supervise the complete product development process, from concept through design, prototyping, testing, and production.
  • Champion the design phase, ensuring products are cutting-edge, user-centric, and comply with all applicable safety and regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to transform concepts into feasible products, optimizing for performance, cost-effectiveness, and manufacturability.
  • Project Coordination:
  • Oversee multiple product development initiatives concurrently, ensuring timely delivery and compliance with budgetary limits.
  • Establish and uphold effective project management practices to monitor progress, identify potential risks, and ensure prompt resolution of challenges.
  • Interdepartmental Collaboration:
  • Work in tandem with the compliance team to guarantee all products fulfill regulatory standards, including UL 9540, FCC, and other pertinent regulations.
  • Collaborate with marketing and sales divisions to formulate go-to-market strategies, product positioning, and promotional initiatives.
  • Leadership & Team Development:
  • Guide, mentor, and cultivate a high-performing product development team, nurturing a culture of innovation, teamwork, and continuous enhancement.
  • Provide strategic insights to senior management regarding product planning and business growth opportunities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Product Design, or a related discipline; a Master's degree is preferred.
  • Over 10 years of experience in product development, particularly in EV charging systems, power supplies, or related fields.
  • Demonstrated success in bringing products from concept to market, with a comprehensive understanding of the product development lifecycle.
  • Experience in leading cross-functional teams and managing complex projects.
  • Strong familiarity with regulatory requirements for EV charging systems, including UL, FCC, and automotive standards.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and project management capabilities.
  • A genuine passion for innovation and sustainable technology.
