Position Summary: We are looking for a forward-thinking and influential Director of Product Development to spearhead the advancement of our next-generation EV charging technologies. This position is crucial to our product lifecycle, overseeing the process from initial idea generation to final design, development, and market introduction. The ideal candidate will collaborate with diverse teams, including engineering, design, compliance, and marketing, to ensure our offerings achieve exceptional quality, performance, and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Product Ideation:
  • Direct the brainstorming and conceptualization of innovative EV charging products, ensuring they align with market dynamics, customer preferences, and organizational objectives.
  • Engage with stakeholders to articulate product vision, strategy, and development roadmaps.
  • Design & Development Oversight:
  • Manage the comprehensive product development process, from ideation to design, prototyping, testing, and manufacturing.
  • Lead the design initiatives, ensuring products are groundbreaking, user-centric, and comply with all necessary safety and regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to convert concepts into feasible products, focusing on performance, cost-effectiveness, and manufacturability.
  • Project Leadership:
  • Oversee multiple product development initiatives concurrently, ensuring timely delivery and budget compliance.
  • Establish and uphold effective project management practices to monitor progress, identify potential risks, and facilitate prompt issue resolution.
  • Interdepartmental Collaboration:
  • Partner with the compliance team to guarantee all products adhere to regulatory standards, including UL 9540, FCC, and other applicable guidelines.
  • Work alongside marketing and sales teams to formulate go-to-market strategies, product positioning, and promotional campaigns.
  • Team Leadership & Development:
  • Guide, mentor, and cultivate a high-performing product development team, promoting a culture of innovation, teamwork, and continuous enhancement.
  • Provide strategic insights to senior management regarding product planning and business development strategies.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Product Design, or a related discipline; a Master's degree is preferred.
  • Over 10 years of experience in product development, particularly in EV charging systems, power supplies, or similar technologies.
  • A proven history of successfully bringing products from concept to market, with a comprehensive understanding of the product development lifecycle.
  • Experience in leading cross-functional teams and managing complex projects.
  • Strong familiarity with regulatory standards for EV charging systems, including UL, FCC, and automotive regulations.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and project management abilities.
  • A genuine passion for innovation and sustainable technology.
