Position Summary: We are looking for an experienced and forward-thinking Director of Product Development to spearhead the design and implementation of our innovative EV charging systems. This pivotal role encompasses the entire product lifecycle, from initial ideation to final production and market introduction. The ideal candidate will collaborate with various teams, including engineering, design, compliance, and marketing, to ensure our offerings uphold the highest standards of quality, functionality, and user satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Product Ideation:
    • Drive the brainstorming and conceptualization of new EV charging products, ensuring they align with market dynamics, consumer preferences, and organizational objectives.
    • Engage with stakeholders to establish product vision, strategic direction, and development timelines.
  • Design & Engineering:
    • Oversee the comprehensive product development process, from concept through design, prototyping, testing, and production.
    • Champion the design phase, ensuring products are innovative, user-centric, and compliant with all applicable safety and regulatory standards.
    • Collaborate with engineering teams to transform concepts into practical products, optimizing for performance, cost-effectiveness, and manufacturability.
  • Project Oversight:
    • Manage multiple product development initiatives concurrently, ensuring timely delivery and budget compliance.
    • Establish and uphold effective project management protocols to monitor progress, identify potential risks, and facilitate prompt issue resolution.
  • Collaborative Efforts:
    • Work in tandem with the compliance team to guarantee all products adhere to regulatory standards, including UL 9540, FCC, and other pertinent guidelines.
    • Collaborate with marketing and sales teams to formulate go-to-market strategies, product positioning, and promotional activities.
  • Leadership & Team Development:
    • Guide, mentor, and cultivate a high-performing product development team, promoting a culture of innovation, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
    • Provide strategic insights to senior management regarding product planning and business development strategies.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Product Design, or a related discipline; a Master's degree is preferred.
  • Over 10 years of experience in product development, particularly in EV charging systems, power supplies, or similar technologies.
  • A proven history of guiding products from concept to market introduction, with a deep understanding of the complete product development process.
  • Experience in leading cross-functional teams and managing complex projects.
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory standards for EV charging systems, including UL, FCC, and automotive regulations.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and project management capabilities.
  • A genuine passion for innovation and sustainable technology.
