Position Overview
As a pivotal member of Base-2 Solutions, LLC, the System Administrator will play a crucial role in enhancing the capabilities of Machine Learning Operations (MLOps) to support advanced analytics and predictive modeling initiatives. This position focuses on delivering innovative machine learning solutions that contribute to national security goals, enabling rapid analysis and dissemination of actionable intelligence insights.
Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with a diverse, agile team comprising data scientists, engineers, software developers, and analysts to design, develop, and optimize a sophisticated application that demands substantial resources.
  • Manage multiple concurrent projects, utilizing both independent and collaborative approaches to deliver exceptional infrastructure and deployment solutions.
  • Leverage your analytical skills and customer-oriented mindset to discover new strategies for enhancing system performance through effective administration practices, working alongside a highly skilled and motivated team.
Essential Qualifications
  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, with a minimum of three years in a relevant field; two additional years of experience may substitute for the degree.
  • Possession of TS/SCI clearance with the capability to obtain and maintain TS/SCI with Polygraph.
  • Over four years of experience in system administration, particularly within cloud-native environments.
  • Extensive experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS/C2S).
  • Proficient in Linux OS system administration.
  • Strong background in application and infrastructure deployment, configuration, and maintenance.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Privileged User Access (PUA) on the network.
  • Experience in hardware maintenance in accordance with security policies.
  • Proficiency in one or more scripting languages for system administration.
  • Demonstrated ability in active learning and innovative problem-solving.
  • Capability to evaluate and assess infrastructure and application deployment needs, identifying optimal and cost-effective solutions.
  • A willingness to thrive in a fast-paced environment and quickly acquire new skills as necessary.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Significant experience supporting military or intelligence community clients, showcasing progressive technical growth and mission-driven results.
  • Experience in supporting data team operations.
  • An interest in data science, data engineering, or machine learning.
  • Experience in system administration within on-premises, air-gapped environments.
  • Experience in configuring and optimizing storage and networking solutions.
  • Familiarity with deploying and maintaining Kubernetes applications, DevOps, and MLOps.
  • Knowledge of IT automation tools (e.g., SaltStack, Ansible, Terraform).
  • Experience with virtualization and distributed file systems, such as Hadoop, in both development and production settings.
  • Familiarity with version control and project management tools like git, svn, and JIRA.
  • Possession of AWS professional certifications.
  • Knowledge of NVIDIA GPUs and related appliances.
