Role Description

As a Cloud Infrastructure Systems Specialist, you will collaborate with a team of skilled cloud computing experts to swiftly develop and implement a demonstration capability while also assisting the program office in defining, designing, and deploying the final system. The development process will utilize agile methodologies, incorporating feedback from various stakeholders. The team is expected to evolve into a large-scale enterprise development initiative. This role demands a high level of adaptability and technical proficiency. The work environment is dynamic, characterized by multiple stakeholders and evolving requirements. Key responsibilities include:

• Collaborating with a team of cloud computing professionals to efficiently construct and deploy a demonstration capability while aiding the program office in system specification, design, and deployment.

• Engaging in iterative development practices using agile methodologies, with contributions from diverse stakeholders.

• Demonstrating exceptional adaptability and technical expertise.

• Operating in a fast-paced environment with shifting requirements and multiple stakeholders.

• Participating in iterative software development teams while adhering to all reporting protocols.

• Meeting with stakeholders to analyze requirements, user stories, and related documentation to establish specifications for system environments.

• Coordinating with technical teams responsible for cloud hosting infrastructures to create and maintain environments for development, testing, and deployment of both demonstration capabilities and final production systems.

• Building, migrating, and testing AWS cloud environments and integrations.

• Developing templates or scripts to automate routine developer or operational tasks.

• Expanding and maintaining cloud hosting through new automation solutions.

• Monitoring and sustaining multiple cloud infrastructure environments based on client specifications.

• Identifying innovative tools and processes to enhance cloud platforms.

• Collaborating with remote team members to foster positive and productive team dynamics.

• Developing, testing, and monitoring connections to interfacing systems, including data feeds from various organizations and user interactions from other sponsor organizations.

• Coordinating with other programs to integrate enterprise services utilized by the sponsor system.

• As the program progresses, this role may involve occasional on-call support after standard hours.

• Creating technical documentation and presentation materials to support program status reviews and other management-directed presentations.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Information Systems, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a closely related field.

Required Experience: 8+ years

Essential Technical Skills:

• Advanced systems administration in Linux/Unix

• Proficiency in physical server management and troubleshooting

• Expertise in cloud application architecture (AWS/Azure)

• Familiarity with AWS Cloud Formation

• Experience in large-scale system integration

• Scripting capabilities for automating developer or operational tasks

• Maintenance of environment and server layout according to industry standards and best practices

• Development of enterprise and solution-level architectural designs

• Proficiency in project management tools such as JIRA and Confluence

• Ensuring environments are maintained at the latest security standards

• Remediation of application/package installations

• Rapid prototyping to refine system requirements and technical specifications

• Knowledge of infrastructure as code design and management techniques

• Familiarity with project management methodologies and lifecycle models

• Understanding of software quality assurance best practices

• Strong communication and documentation skills
